This house is open to rent for a holiday/winter short-term retreat! It is available to rent starting from 12-23-2024 (or thereabout) through January 30, 2025 only at this time. Everything you need is here, just bring your suitcase. We rent our furnished home to people on sabbaticals or those in need of a short-term home as they remodel or for other circumstances. The home is uncluttered and ultra clean. This is our primary residence with all items needed for your stay. We are responsive and welcoming homeowners- we take pride in renting a great up-to-date house with every amenity. We will collaborate with tenants to assure a pleasant and productive stay. Our friendly furnished home is in a uniquely beautiful neighborhood, three blocks to Lake Michigan and two blocks to the train and a charming downtown. The house is a 2-story remodeled brick refuge with lovely big windows and light throughout. You can zip on the train to Evanston, home of Northwestern University, in ten minutes, and to Chicago in about 20-40 minutes. Our white brick home was built in a sturdy 1923 style and has been updated to keep its special character. The kitchen and bathrooms are remodeled and attractive. All three bedrooms and two full bathrooms are upstairs- one bedroom has an attached sun porch (possible 4th bedroom). Downstairs is a cozy living room, kitchen, dining room with a connected screened porch, and a newer large family-entertainment room (or study), leading to a wide brick patio and backyard. The basement is remodeled with a laundry and an inviting study area. The house has stairs but is safe and welcoming for children. Front and back yards are landscaped and we provide lawn care and snow removal. There is an attached one-car garage and brick driveway with room for three or more cars. We can discuss cleaners. The neighborhood is friendly, quiet, and completely safe at all hours of night and day, close to nearly everything you need. The house is located two-three blocks to Winnetka's Hubbard Woods downtown and train station, close to Lake Michigan and Sheridan Road, famous for historical estates along the lake. We're surrounded by Victorian to modern homes of all sizes, in a friendly, diverse neighborhood for all ages. Walk through beautiful ravines to beaches extending both ways. Walk to the village green and to four inviting downtown areas in Winnetka and Glencoe, with restaurants, coffee shops, libraries, theaters, pharmacies, galleries, grocery stores, and more. A playground at the end of our block leads to a biking-walking trail that goes for miles. We are in the excellent K-8 Winnetka Elementary School District (Hubbard Woods Elementary School, Washburne Middle School), and renowned New Trier High School District, with park and community services from both Winnetka and Glencoe. Excellent daycare and early education services are nearby. Our house is a bike ride, drive, or train ride to Chicago neighborhoods, the Chicago Botanic Garden, Northwestern University in Evanston, Loyola University, Lake Forest College, and all metro colleges and universities. You will be happy here!
